Prohibited & Permitted Items

Permitted

  1. Pre-prepared or packaged food items that fit in 1 soft-sided cooler/insulated bag (10” X 7” X 8” or smaller).

  2. Single serving plastic water bottle

  3. Re-fillable water bottle

  4. Pocket knife 3 inch or less

  5. Trained service animal

  6. 1 backpack or backpack-sized tote for personal items

Prohibited

  1. Cooking equipment of any kind

    loose food or food contained in large, catering-style pans, trays, bowls, etc.

  2. Hard shell coolers/ice chests (plastic, metal, etc.)

  3. Flammable liquids

  4. Tables

  5. Knives, metal utensils, or any item that could be considered or used as weapon

  6. Alcohol or any type of alcoholic beverage

  7. Cans or glass containers

  8. Comfort animals or pets

  9. Firearms or any type of weapon*

  10. Mace or pepper spray

  11. Illegal drugs or narcotics

  12. Cannabis products of any kind

  13. Flasks

  14. Bikes, skateboards, scooters, roller blades

  15. Fireworks/firecrackers

  16. Professional camera equipment (see photography policy below)

  17. Drones (see drone policy below)


*Includes off-duty peace officers or any individual licensed to carry a concealed weapon.

Permissible and prohibited items are subject to change for individual events.

All backpack/bags/purses are subject to search.

Violation of these Rules of Conduct will constitute cause for removal.

In order to ensure the safety, security, privacy and property interests of the Alameda County Fairgrounds, the use of drones is strictly prohibited within the Fairgrounds property and/or air space without prior written consent. Violators may be subject to removal and/or arrest.

Guest Photography: Guests are welcome to take photographs while visiting the Fairgrounds with the following exceptions:

  • Photographing individuals without their consent is not permitted
  • Professional or amateur photographers not employed or contracted by The Alameda County Fairgrounds must obtain a signed consent waiver form from each person they photograph at an event on the Fairgrounds
  • Photographing minors (any person under the age of 18) without the consent of parent/guardian, is unlawful and strictly prohibited!

Official Photography

  • The Alameda County Fairgrounds reserves the right to photograph, film, videotape, record or otherwise reproduce the image and/or voice of any/all persons who enter the Fairgrounds, and use same, for any purpose without payment or compensation to individual(s) photographed.
